Butterfly Colouring Pages

Butterflies are one of the most popular search terms on Pinterest for colouring pages, and for good reason, the symmetrical wing patterns are perfect for kids who like filling in colour blocks, and they translate beautifully across every age range. Crayon Dreaming gives you butterflies that match the level of detail you're after. A simple monarch butterfly on a daisy for a four-year-old.

A mandala-style symmetrical butterfly with intricate wing patterns for a ten-year-old. A butterfly garden full of half-a-dozen species. Type the scene, pick a style, and a printable page is ready in under a minute.

For younger kids, ask for the Cartoon or Kawaii style. For mandala-style butterflies that older kids and adults love, ask for the Storybook style and ask for "symmetrical mandala butterfly with detailed wing patterns".

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a normal butterfly page and a mandala one?

A normal butterfly page is a butterfly in a scene, on a flower, in a garden, on a hand. A mandala butterfly is a symmetrical, highly-decorated butterfly with intricate patterns inside the wings, designed for older kids and adults who like detailed colouring.

Are the butterflies biologically accurate?

If you ask for a specific species ("monarch butterfly", "blue morpho") we draw the right wing pattern. If you just ask for "a butterfly" the generator picks a friendly, recognisable shape, we're not trying to be a textbook.

What age is butterfly colouring good for?

Simple butterfly pages work from age 3. Mandala-style butterflies work for ages 8 and up. Plenty of adults colour mandala butterflies for relaxation, grandparents are a common audience.

Can I make a butterfly colouring book?

Two paths. Pick 20 or more favourite butterfly pages from your My Creations gallery and we'll print and bind them into a real book and ship it worldwide. Or use the gift flow to start fresh: pick a butterfly theme, describe twenty pages, and we'll print, bind and ship that as a one-off book.
